Perceived Geography of New York’s Five Boroughs

 

What is the perceived geography of New York City’s five boroughs?

From a survey of mostly non-native New Yorkers, this map aimed to capture Manhattan-centric geographic perceptions of New York City. Given a rectangular, slanted box that represented Central Park, participants started with Manhattan and then outlined the other boroughs.
